Free use & licensing

MacVM is completely free to download and use. There is no purchase price, subscription, trial period, or paid feature unlock. You do not need to buy a MacVM licence key.

Guest operating systems

MacVM’s free price applies to the MacVM application. The operating systems you install inside it have their own licence terms.

• Windows: you provide a Windows 11 ARM64 installer and your own activation licence. MacVM does not include a Windows licence.
• macOS: installers come from Apple; Apple’s applicable software licence terms still apply.
• Linux: each distribution and its included software retain their respective licences.

Source and third-party components

The MacVM project contains the source and technical documentation. Third-party components keep their own copyright notices and licences. Free use of the MacVM app does not replace those terms or grant additional rights to third-party software.
